You Are the Moon - The Hush Sound |

Hello - I'm CS, and I've recently acquired a habit of watching Frasier re-runs. Well, like most "habits" I tend to acquire, it's more like an "obsession", but number of episodes a day I TiVO is impertinent.
I usually lurk expediently in television fan communities, but I also usually dislike sitcoms. The fact that I am enamored enough to post makes a significant statement about the quality of the source material, I think. =]
I tuned in to Frasier early this summer on a whim. My father recently suffered a knee injury and has been confined to a cane and an armchair (not unlike Martin's, I may mention, although his physical therapist bears more of a resemblance to Maris than Daphne - if Maris has a resemblance, that is). As such, he'd begun to memorize the TV Guide and was having fun watching some of the shows he used to enjoy, Frasier being one of them. While getting ready for work one morning, I happened to sit down with my coffee and join him for a couple of episodes. I found myself surprised to actually laugh aloud - and so was my father surprised at my disappointment in missing the show the next morning, replying with "I though you were just watching that fuddy-duddy sitcom to humor me!"
So, strangely enough, Frasier has become a sort of family ritual while my dad is detained from work. Even my twelve-year-old brother avidly watches it along with us and quotes it to his friends later, which is either hilarious or heartwarming. It's my Obsession of the Moment, by proxy, and I've naturally adopted Niles/Daphne as my series flagship. David Hyde-Pierce is of a different mold than most of my fictional crushing material, but he is a blond Aries, which must be somehow explanatory. =P I'm slowly making my way through all of the seasons as Lifetime airs them. . . it's ironic how my least favorite channel has now become my most watched.
Anyhow, this brings me to the second part of my post, which is a bit of silliness I happened to notice while reading the Serenity: Better Days comic series (any Browncoats out there?):
( Daphne, Trained Companion? )
Hopefully that amused someone besides myself. And now, I will belatedly conclude my post; it's far too late and I feel long-winded and fangirl-ish. Excuse my nattering. =P
